Sidecar won't work if your iPad and Mac are set to share an internet connection. Maybe you had enabled Internet sharing on your device and forgot to turn it off. Check it out as it might well be the reason behind this issue. On Your iPad, go to Settings → Personal Hotspot and then toggle it off.
