Just select "Leave this Conversation" at the bottom of the screen, and you will be removed. If the "Leave this Conversation" option is not shown, it means someone in the group text does not have iMessage on or isn't running the latest version of iOS. If that's the case, you won't be able to leave the conversation.
From Chats, open the group conversation. Tap the names of the people in the conversation at the top. Scroll down and tap Leave Group, then Leave Group.
To leave a chat group gracefully be as honest and clear as you can, without feeling any shame or guilt. Something along the lines of “I'm cleaning up on my screen use and realise I need to streamline my social media and chat groups, so I've decided it's best for me to leave this chat.

Android finally started offering an iMessage equivalent called Chat for all users in 2019. You can't leave a group message as you can an iMessage.

Try not to be the first person to leave if it's a family or friends group because it may make things awkward when you actually meet people from the group later on. But it's totally acceptable to leave a group abruptly if you've been randomly added by a promotions group or strangers.
To leave a group, tap the menu icon and tap 'Leave Group. ' 👋🏼 P.s. Once you leave, Snaps & Chats you sent will be cleared.
Your best bet is to either mute the conversation entirely, find a tactful way to excuse yourself, or just hope that enough members have also muted the chat for long enough that your self-removal notification gets sufficiently lost in a sea of other messages.
On the Discord app for Android:
In the group chat, look at the top right of the screen and press the three dots to bring up an options menu. You are looking for Notifications, which is either in this menu or found by following a link for Details. If you see a bell icon, tap it to turn off notifications.
In Facebook Messenger, head to the conversation's options and turn notifications off or leave the group entirely. (You can also “ignore” the group, which will move it to “message requests” where you don't have to see it, but the other recipients won't be notified like they would if you left the group.)
